Wills and Directives for Peace of Mind
Wills and healthcare directives are foundational elements of any estate plan:
Last Will & Testament
A will is essential for outlining how your assets will be distributed and naming guardians for minor children. We draft wills that reflect your wishes while ensuring they meet North Carolina’s legal requirements.
Living Wills
A living will allows you to specify your preferences for medical treatment in situations where you cannot communicate. This document provides guidance for your family and healthcare providers during critical moments.
Trust for Asset Management and Protection
Trusts offer a flexible way to manage assets during your lifetime and provide for your beneficiaries:
Revocable Living Trusts
A living trust allows you to manage your assets while simplifying the transfer process for your beneficiaries. It helps avoid probate, saving time and costs for your family.
Irrevocable Trusts
These trusts are ideal for protecting assets, reducing taxes, or planning for Medicaid eligibility.
Charitable Trusts
For those looking to support causes they care about, charitable trusts provide an opportunity to leave a lasting impact while achieving tax benefits.
Powers of Attorney
Designating a trusted individual to handle your affairs is a key component of any estate plan:
Financial Power of Attorney
This document authorizes someone to manage your financial matters, such as banking, paying bills, and handling investments, in case you’re unable to do so.
Healthcare Power of Attorney
Appointing a healthcare power of attorney ensures that medical decisions align with your values if you are incapacitated.
Legacy Planning for Families and Businesses
Legacy planning ensures that your values are preserved and your assets are distributed according to your priorities:
Families Legacy Planning
We help families establish plans that address the needs of loved ones, minimize tax liabilities, and secure long-term financial stability.
