Wills and Trusts
Wills and trusts are foundational documents for distributing your assets and providing for your loved ones:
Last Will & Testament
A will outlines how your assets will be distributed and allows you to name guardians for minor children. We draft wills that reflect your wishes and provide clear instructions for your executor.
Revocable Living Trusts
A trust allows you to manage your assets during your lifetime and provides a seamless transition to your beneficiaries. This option is ideal for avoiding probate and maintaining privacy.
Specialized Trusts
For those with unique goals, such as caring for a dependent with special needs or leaving a charitable legacy, we create tailored trust agreements that address specific requirements.
Health Care Directives
Health care directives ensure that your medical preferences are respected if you are unable to communicate your wishes:
Living Will
This document allows you to outline your preferences for end-of-life care, ensuring that decisions reflect your values and beliefs.
Health Care Power of Attorney
Designate a trusted individual to make medical decisions on your behalf if you are unable to do so. This ensures your wishes are carried out by someone who understands your priorities.
Financial Power of Attorney
Financial powers of attorney are essential for managing your assets if you become incapacitated:
Durable Financial Power of Attorney
This document allows a trusted person to handle financial matters, such as managing bank accounts, paying bills, or overseeing property transactions, on your behalf.
Springing Power of Attorney
This type of power of attorney becomes effective only under specific circumstances, such as a medical determination of incapacity.
Estate Planning for Families and Business Owners
Estate planning is not one-size-fits-all, and we work to address the specific needs of our Raleigh clients:
Families with Young Children
We help parents establish plans that name guardians, set up trusts, and ensure that assets are used to care for their children.
Small Business Owners
Business succession planning is a critical part of protecting your company and ensuring its continuity. We work with business owners to create strategies that align with their goals.
